Our Planning courses
Our Postgraduate Planning programmes offer an innovative and creative blend of theory and application in planning and development. Our offer draws on the best in academic and professional practice to develop student awareness of ideas and practices found in the real world. This includes considerations of urban design and site planning, negotiation, strategic planning, the economics and viability of development. We also offer specialist optional modules.
We usually offer a number CLG-funded bursaries but these have been under review as part of wider central government cuts. Please ask us about their availability for 2011/12 or 2012/13. We also encourage overseas students to apply for the Felix scholarships (six for Indian students and one for a non-Indian student). Further details can be found at the Felix Scholarship website.
All our Planning courses have dual accreditation from the RICS and the RTPI and (with the exception of the MSc IPSUM) can be taken either on a 12 month full time basis or a 24 month part time basis.
From 2012 we will offer the following Planning degree courses:
- MSc Development Planning
- MSc in Development Planning Research
- MSc International Planning and Sustainable Urban Management (IPSUM)
We also offer the following programme which is only available for Reading graduates who have completed the BSc Real Estate routeway:
