AACSB International is the Association to Advanced Collegiate Schools of Business based in the United States. The organisation is the premier accrediting agency in America for Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral Degree Programmes in Business Administration and Accounting. Henley gained AACSB accreditation in 2002.
Association for Learning Technology
ALT is an educational organisation which seeks to bring together all those with an interest in the use of learning technology in higher and further education. It aims to: promote good practice in the use of learning technologies, education and industry; represent the members in areas of policy and facilitate collaboration between practitioners and policy makers.
Association for Project Management
The Association for Project Management is the largest professional project management body in Western Europe and plays a major part in developing the profession internationally. With over twelve thousand members, it has 14 branches in the United Kingdom, and two in the Asia Pacific region. It is a major member of the International Project Management Association. In addition to private Members, the Association also has over two hundred and fifty Corporate Members and a number of Higher Education Institute Members. Specific Interest Groups provide in-depth cover of a wide range of project management topics. A continuous programme of events across the country actively supports professional development and the career prospects of its members. The Association sets standards in project management and provides a number of project management qualifications.
Association of MBAs (AMBA)
The Association of MBAs is the professional association for MBAs. Membership is open to students at or graduates from the Association's accredited MBA programmes. All Henley's MBA programmes are accredited by AMBA.
Association of Business Schools (ABS)
ABS is the sole representative body of the business schools of the United Kingdom. Its membership covers all of the major UK higher education providers of business and management education at first degree, postgraduate degree, and post-experience levels. The primary object of ABS is: 'to advance the education of the public in business and management in particular through the promotion of business and management education training and development so as to improve the quality and effectiveness of management in the United Kingdom'.
CFA Institute
CFA Institute is the global, not-for-profit association of investment professionals that awards the CFA and CIPM designations. It promotes the highest ethical standards and offers a range of educational opportunities online and around the world.
Chartered Management Institute
The Chartered Management Institute is the UK's leading organisation for professional management. As the champion of management, the Institute shapes and supports the managers or tomorrow. By sharing the latest insights and setting standards in management development, the Chartered Management Institute helps to deliver results in a dynamic world. It offers a wide range of development programmes, qualifications, information resources, networking events and career guidance services to help managers and organisations meet new challenges in a fast-changing environment. With in-depth research and regular policy surveys of its 74,000 individual members and 480 corporate members, the Institute uses its deep understanding of the key issues to improve management performance.
Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)
The Institute of Personnel and Development is a leading authority in the field of human resources in the United Kingdom and Ireland. With over 75,000 members it is the largest body of its kind in the world, representing personnel and training practitioners. The mission of the IPD is to lead in the development and promotion of good practice in the field of the management and development of people for application by both professional members and by their organisational colleagues.
European Academy of Business in Society (EABIS)
The Academy is an alliance between leading companies and business schools in Europe and is dedicated to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The Academy's mission is to be a world-class reference point to drive CSR into the mainstream of business practice, theory and education, and to enhance models for sustainable success. Its aims are to build Europe's largest network of excellence to deliver interdisciplinary research on CSR and to ensure that CSR becomes a significant element in all main courses in business and management. The main link to Henley is via the The John Madejski Centre for Reputation, which is collaborating with the Academy in seeking funds from the European Union to undertake research on Reputation and Stakeholder Relationships.
European Doctoral Association for Programmes in Management and Business Administration (EDAMBA)
The purpose of EDAMBA is to promote and facilitate co-operation among European Doctoral Programmes in Management and Business Administration by providing and managing a network to exchange information, to exchange PhD candidates and to promote research co-operation. Thereby, EDAMBA helps the participating schools to increase the quality of their PhD programme and to create an environment of excellence in the European perspective while pursuing diversity.
European Doctoral School in Knowledge and Management (EUDOKMA)
The mission of EUDOKMA is to promote research programmes and doctoral training on knowledge and management, relating the philosophical and methodological aspects of that subject with efficient knowledge creation, diffusion and application. Those aims are based in the idea that it is important to train academics, professionals and managers with deep critical and creative foundations on knowledge and learning. Established in October 1999, the Consortium was initially formed by the following institutions: Copenhagen Business School, DK; Erasmus University Rotterdam; ESADE Barcelona; Henley, UK; Kingston University, UK; ISTUD, Milan; Swedish School of Economics and Business Administration, Helsinki; and Uppsala University, Sweden.
European Foundation for Management Development (efmd)
efmd, based in Brussels, is Europe's forum for information, research, networking and dialogue on innovation and best practice in management development. efmd's network includes over 330 member organisations in over 40 countries including leading business schools and executive development centres, with the chief executives principals, directors and deans playing a key role. EQUIS is the European Quality Improvement System operated under the auspices of efmd. It accredits member business schools. Henley is accredited by EQUIS.
European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM)
The European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM) was founded in 1971 and started operations in 1972. The objective of the Institute is to promote the training and development of management teachers and researchers in Europe. EIASM carries out this task by a.o. designing advanced research programmes in the Management Sciences to be conducted by outstanding researchers; supporting and encouraging the organisation of doctoral programmes in Management in collaboration with European Universities and Business Schools; setting up international workshop-type activities so as to stimulate fruitful interactions between management scholars active on the research scene.
European Women in Management and Development (EWMD)
EWMD is an international network of individual and corporate members (HQ is in Germany), drawn from professional organisations and all areas of business, education and politics. It was founded in 1984 with the vision to improve the quality of management and the cultural diversity of Europe. EWMD has members in more than 25 countries, including Europe and the United States, South Africa and Asia. The network looks at non-traditional ways of working to the full potential of employees, endeavours to encourage greater creativity and improved productivity. Relationship-building and networking in trust, respect and empowerment are believed to be the key to knowledge management.
Executive MBA Council
The Executive MBA Council has for its mission to foster excellence and innovation in Executive MBA programmes in a globally competitive environment. The Council supports academic and programme administrators in responding to and serving the educational needs of the diverse group of professionals who comprise its student population.
Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA)
The largest non-governmental regulator for all securities firms doing business in the United States. FINRA oversees nearly 5,000 brokerage firms, about 173,000 branch offices and more than 677,000 registered securities representatives.
Higher Education External Relations Association (HEERA)
HEERA, the Higher Education External Relations Association, embraces all those working in higher education in the UK in the fields of public and media relations, alumni relations and fund-raising and development. It exists to promote opportunities, encourage training and share knowledge among its members. Members meet at two training conferences held each year, and keep in touch through branch membership, central mailings and the twice-yearly newsletter HEERA Now.
Higher Education South East
Higher Education South East was set up in 1999 to promote the interests of all higher education institutes in the government defined South East region of England. It has been recognised both as an important conduit and as a forum for dialogue on regional issues and as an effective advocate of higher education interests within the region.
International Capital Market Association (ICMA)
The International Capital Market Association (ICMA) is the self-regulatory organisation and trade association representing practitioners in the international capital market worldwide. ICMA's members are located in 48 countries across the globe, including all the world's main financial centres, and currently number some 400 members in total.
International Consortium for Executive Development Research (ICDER)
ICEDR is an international, membership-driven alliance of approximately forty leading global corporations and twenty-five exemplary academic institutions.Through ICEDR, member organisations engage in the highest-quality exchange in the areas of: the global management of talent, building and sustaining global organisational capability, innovations in change leadership, effective approaches to advising the top management team.
International Forum on Technology Management
The International Forum on Technology Management has existed for a number of years and is supported by some major corporations as well as key business schools and university departments. The academic proceedings of the fifth Conference have been published in the International Journal of Technology Management and were edited by Professor David Birchall of Henley and Professor Jean-Jacques Chanaron of Groupe ESC Grenoble.
International University Consortium for Executive Education (UNICON)
UNICON is an international organisation whose mission is to strengthen university sponsored executive education through innovative processes for developing leaders and their organisations. Members are primarily degree granting institutions with a major committment to executive education. Henley is a member of UNICON and Michael Pitfield is an Emeritus Member of the Board of Directors (Chairman 1998).
Major Projects Association
Formed in 1980, the Major Projects Association's role is to act as a catalyst, enabling all types of organisations working on major projects to develop their abilities and their businesses within a cooperative and stimulating environment. The membership comprises an international group of senior professionals engaged in a wide variety of commercial and cultural enterprises.
The MPA hosts an ongoing programme of meetings, seminars, visits and courses, enabling members to develop new knowledge while sharing experience and expertise with colleagues. It is unique in bringing together the broadest possible range of senior people involved in major projects. Henley participates actively in their programme of events and ongoing work.

A fast-growing, collaborative network of risk professionals from around the globe, defining and implementing the best practices of risk management.
Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
RICS – The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors – is the pre-eminent organisation of its kind in the world. As such, it bears a strong influence the property profession. Members offer leading advice on a diverse range of land, property, construction and related environmental issues. RICS helps to set, maintain and regulate standards and provides impartial advice to governments and policy-makers.
Royal Town Planning Institute
The RTPI (Royal Town Planning Institute) is a dynamic organisation leading the way in the creation of places that work now and in the future. It acknowledges that just as people develop places, places develop people.
The RTPI is committed to the enhancement of our natural and human environment, believing that good planning combines an awareness of the competing pressures on our built environment with an ability to manage the very real effects on our space.
Securities & Investment Institute (SII)
The largest and most widely respected professional body for those who work in the securities and investment industry in the UK. Formed as the "Securities Institute" in 1992 by the members of the London Stock Exchange, today the Institute is the leading and progressive examining, training and membership body for the securities and investment industry with over 30,000 members.
Society of Information Technology Management (SOCITM)
The primary objective of the society is to promote the effective and efficient use of Information Technology in Local Government and the Public Sector.
It provides a forum in which members of the Society can discuss and confer on all aspects of the application of information technology in these areas and in co-operation with other appropriate bodies encourages and promotes recognised professional standards among those engaged in the information technology management function. It further provides a source of professional advice on the application of information technology in local government and the public sector.
United Kingdom Academics in Information Systems (UKAIS)
The UKAIS is an effective combination of a 'learned society', 'communications channel' and 'pressure group'. By continually improving the quality and relevance of teaching and through innovative and rigorous research it contributes to both academic development and excellence in IS practice in the UK. The UKAIS is a conduit for communication between industry and academia to ensure that relevant courses can be designed and research initiatives established.
The Walpole Group
Walpole, a non-profit organisation, was established in 1992 to spearhead British excellence both at home and abroad. Comprising of nearly 100 members, Walpole brings together the very best in British luxury and craftsmanship. It provides a key forum allowing members to meet at regular intervals to network and discuss business ideas. The collective voice of Walpole's members provides a powerful marketing tool to promote British brands around the world.
