Prof. Kecheng Liu appointed as Guest Professor of Renmin University, China
On behalf of President Ji Baocheng, Prof. Du Xiaoyong (left), Dean of School of Information, presented the certificate to Prof. Liu on 17 October 2011 in Beijing. After the ceremony, Prof. Liu delivered a research seminar "organisational semiotics as a foundation for information systems".

Internet Informatics Architect & Internet Informatics Engineer (2 KTP Associates)
(29/3/2011) - A Knowledge Transfer Partnership exists between the University of Reading's Informatics Research Centre (IRC) and System Associates Ltd. Two KTP Associates are needed for this vibrant and exciting 24 month project. The projects involve innovative software R&D leading to a new generation of Web 3 products that enable value-adding applications to end-users in the public and private sectors.

Cooperation memorandum signed between IRC and Nanjing Agriculture University, China
(9/2/2011) - On January 21st, Professor Steven Mithen, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of University
of Reading, led a delegation to Nanjing Agricultural University, China, and
formally signed the inter-university cooperation memorandum. The delegation
members include Professor Richard Ellis, Dean of the Faculty of Life
Sciences, Ms. Ros Richards, Director of the International study and Language
Centre, and Dr. Yinshan Tang, Deputy Director of the Informatics Research
Centre (IRC) at Henley Business School.
The cooperation was initiated in September 2010 by Dr. Yinshan Tang's visit
to Nanjing Agricultural University, and the possibilities of joint project
in postgraduate training in informatics were discussed. Later in 2010,
Professor Steven Mithen and Dr. Yinshan Tang visited Nanjing Agricultural
University to further discuss the cooperation between the two universities.
It is agreed that the initial cooperation will start with three master
degree programmes in Information Management, and that the inter-university
cooperation is expected to be extended into other fields at a later stage.
