The John Madejski Centre for Reputation
Case Collection
The Public Relations, Public Affairs and Corporate Communication Case Collection
The John Madejski Centre for Reputation is working with the European Case Clearing House (ECCH), located at Cranfield University, to develop cases in Pubic Relations, Public Affairs, Corporate Communication, Reputation Management and Corporate Social Responsibility.
Cases on these topics are under-represented in the case collection of the ECCH, and the Centre is actively seeking funding to commission new cases. The cases will contribute to practice development, as well as to teaching and research activities: The collection allows for the bringing together of cases that can be used in general management education and development to increase the understanding leaders and managers have of public relations, public affairs and corporate communication management.
The collection is also, in part, a response to a recent report commissioned by the UK's Institute of Public Relations carried out under the auspices of the UK Department of Trade and Industry. This recommended that a public relations best practices case study bank should be established.
The collection will:
- Index existing cases dealing with public relations, public affairs and corporate communication held in the European Case Clearing House collection.
- Seek funding for the commissioning and writing of new cases dealing with topics of interest to practitioners and managing responsible for managing public relations, public affairs and corporate communication.
- Actively encourage case writings at business and management schools to examine and write on these topics.
- Organise seminars for case writers and practitioners on issues arising out of the preparation of cases in public relations, public affairs and corporate communication.
