CRB policy

The University of Reading is registered with the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and uses its services in order to make informed decisions when recruiting staff into positions of trust which involve regular contact with either children or vulnerable adults. This policy outlines the University's approach to recruiting ex-offenders and provides procedural guidance for conducting staff CRB checks. Schools and departments should ensure that where it is a requirement of the post, it is recorded appropriately on a Staffing Request Form and that all staff who will be working with children and/or vulnerable adults are subjected to an Enhanced CRB check.

Please read the CRB Policy carefully before completing your CRB application form.
