Postgraduate Certificate in Health and Social Care Management

The Certificate in Health and Social Care Management at Henley Business School is aimed at people working in all sectors of UK health and social care irrespective of professional or functional background. This includes those who are moving from a purely professional or clinical role to one with a more managerial focus.

It is a rounded qualification that covers the key areas of management of particular relevance to the sector. Those qualifying will be eligible for full membership of the Institute of Healthcare Management (subject to also having two years management experience).

Core modules (40 credits)

Optional Modules* (minimum 20 credits required)

Managing people: recruitment and performance 10 M
Managing information: data and communications management 10 M

* It is possible to replace the optional modules listed above with modules listed for the Postgraduate Diploma programme, although the total number of credits gained will be in excess of the 60 required for the qualification. NB. To gain the qualification it is necessary to have studied a minimum of 10 credits of managing people and 10 of managing information in addition to the core modules above.

What do I need to study to gain a Postgraduate Certificate?

A minimum of 60 credits should be accumulated and may be taken over a minimum of one year and a maximum of three years

Depending on your interests you may find it desirable to study slightly more than the minimum requirement for the qualification. It may be possible to use credit you have already gained via other courses (e.g. Milestones or courses outside the Foundations for the Future programme).
