Georgina Kilner
BA, DipCIM, MBA, MCIM (Programme Director)
Programme Director since July 2006, Georgina spent a decade in sales and marketing management in the chemical industry followed by almost a decade in management consulting and interim management. Her expertise in strategy and marketing has been gained in sectors as diverse as clothing and book retailing to water utilities and travel. Latterly, Georgina has been responsible for developing management programmes across private, public and third sectors. She has expertise in the design and delivery of blended and distance learning programmes and a wealth of knowledge associated with the delivery of student projects. Georgina holds an MBA from Henley and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
Dr Martin Bicknell
BSc, MSc, PhD
Martin joined the team in August 2009. Prior to this he taught at Birkbeck, University of London and Royal Holloway, University of London and before that gained extensive commercial experience, initially at BT and then as a business consultant with KPMG and his own company. A decision in 2001 to refocus his career led him to take a masters degree in Organisational Behaviour and his PhD (awarded in 2008) looked at stress in the workplace and reflects his interest in the 'dark side' of management. He has particular experience in the information, communications and entertainment sector as well as in professional services.
Dr Vaughan Michell
BSc, MBA, D.Phil
Vaughan has over 25 years practitioner and teaching experience in process change, operations, IT and management. He has a doctorate from Oxford University and an MBA from Warwick. Vaughan has held positions as Executive Director and Vice President in charge of operations and IT change teams and major IT enabled reengineering, 6 Sigma and consulting projects and change programmes at investment banks. He has produced a number of papers covering change management, knowledge processing, outsourcing, information management and workflow management. Vaughan has also run his own business (outsourcing and management consultancy) and worked as a management consultant and presales/marketing manager in software.
Peter Race
BSC, MBA (Associate Head of the School and Executive Professor)
Peter is an Associate Head of the School of Management and Executive Professor at Henley Business School. His 'research and professional domain is in operations, project and programme management. He has considerable technological research expertise and a solid background in project management. He is strongly aware of the impact of project management research and development on professional practice. Peter also holds an MBA.
Philip Wilson
BA, PGCE, MSc, ACIS, FHEA
Philip began his career in accountancy within the commercial sector. However, since then he has gathered a great deal of experience in Higher Education, at several universities, and has lectured at all levels. He is currently a Principal Lecturer in Accounting and Finance, the course director of an MBA programme and teaches on postgraduate management and business programmes and on professional accountancy courses. He is also involved in many corporate management and accountancy training programmes. His major topic areas are management accounting and financial management and his current research interests are within the area of risk management.
