This Masters programme in accounting will equip you to understand how and why companies report on their financial performance and position in the way they do and places an important emphasis on analysing real-world financial situations faced by business organisations.
The ability to effectively interpret and make decisions based on accounting and financial information is a valuable tool for a manager in any organisation, regardless of its size or the sector in which it operates.
This programme focuses on developing skills and knowledge vital in business, with an emphasis on accounting, finance and financial management. You will develop a strong understanding of how financial information is used for decision making purposes and how the subsequent outcomes are effectively communicated and evaluated.
Leading-edge research findings are applied to practical challenges facing firms in an international context. Students are encouraged to become confident in using accounting knowledge as well as learning how to make decisions in an accounting and financial environment.
Taught by faculty with wide-ranging interests in the field and whose professional experience ranges from working for smaller organisations to the 'big four' accounting and professional services firms, you will gain a well-rounded knowledge of both theory and practice.
