Work placement opportunities at Henley Business School
All of our undergraduate degree programmes in accounting, business and management provide you with the opportunity to undertake a paid, full-time, one-year paid work placement between your second and final years of study.
How does a work placement benefit you?
Undertaking a one-year work placement as part of your degree can significantly enhance your University experience in a variety of ways. You will enjoy the opportunity to apply your knowledge and abilities in the workplace and develop valuable commercial awareness sought after by graduate employers.
You will also grow your professional network and crucially enhance your CV. In some cases a successful work placement can lead to the offer of a permanent role with the same organisation upon graduation.
In addition, whilst money should never be the motivation for undertaking a placement, and the benefits extend far beyond financial, you can offset the cost of your placement year with a competitive salary.
How we support you
You will start to consider what kind of work placement you would like to pursue in your first year. Students returning from their work placement will give presentations and share their experiences with you, providing a valuable insight into what you can expect.
During years one and two of your degree you will receive dedicated support from the School's placements team to ensure that you secure a challenging and rewarding opportunity. This will include access to an online system where you can search for opportunities, School placement fairs, pre placement training, placement presentations, selection method workshops and advice when preparing your CV and submitting application forms.
You will receive ongoing support during your work placement, with your tutor visiting twice during the year to discuss your experience and performance. You will also develop and agree a training plan with your placement tutor and line manager. We strive to ensure that the student, their employer and the School all benefit from any professional placement.
