About the Executive MBA
The Executive MBA can be studied part-time over a period of 21 months, or completed within 15 months via the accelerated option on a part-time or full-time basis.

This is the MBA at the heart of Henley in the UK. It is established, trusted and favoured by industry, adding a powerful dimension to you as a manager and leader.

The Executive MBA programme emphasises the importance of your personal development as a manager and includes personal support and business coaching. Also included is one international study visit for either programme (one week each in Stage 3). During the Executive MBA programme you will work on company-based projects in high-performance learning groups. This programme is ideal for those managers who aspire to senior roles and wish to maintain their career path, adding benefit to their organisations whilst studying for an Executive MBA.

Executive MBA (21 months)

You don't need to stop work to do an MBA. In fact, most people don't. You continue in your job and come to Henley once a month for an intensive 3-4 day workshop where you will interact directly with our faculty and industry speakers as well working collaboratively with your peers.

Executive MBA (15 months, accelerated)

The Executive MBA can also be taken on an accelerated basis and completed within 15 months. Participants on this version would need to devote considerable time to their studies and would therefore be undertaking the programme full-time or whilst in part-time employment. The accelerated programme will appeal to business owners, consultants, individuals able to take a sabbatical or who are transitioning between organisations, and international participants looking to study in the UK. Participants on this accelerated programme will be able to secure a UK study visa.

Entry Requirements
Our Executive MBA programme is designed for experienced practicing managers. Most already have 10 years postgraduate work experience. Sharing your experience with fellow programme members enriches your learning.

Structure
The Executive MBA has three equal stages that build towards your final qualification. Together they cover business management from every practical and theoretical angle, giving you powerful tools and decision-making techniques for your career.

  • Stage 1 - Managing the organisation
  • Stage 2 - Making choices
  • Stage 3 - Making a difference

Personal development is a strong focus at Henley. Each stage has an assessed element to help you reflect and understand your personal development throughout your MBA journey.

Each module also offers an interesting range of specialist electives which are relevant to Henleys areas of research. This allows you to tailor your Executive MBA to meet your own needs and interests and keeps you up to date with the latest thinking.

For a complete view of our stages and electives please see the Henley MBA brochure (PDF-1.4 MB).

  • Managing Financial Resources

Stage two - You will gain insight and knowledge into the strategic aspects of modern business. There are three core modules:

Personal Development is a key aspect to the Henley MBA and is integrated throughout all three stages of the programme.

Careers
We understand that one of your key motivations for taking the Henley MBA is to develop yourself as an individual.

For those of you who are self-sponsored you are probably rethinking your career direction. So work starts from day one on career planning. It is so vital, we have placed it at the heart of the programme.

Personal development is weaved throughout the MBA which provides an integrated approach to 'careers'. Henleys career service provides a number of workshops to help develop the skills required to promote yourself during and after your MBA, including: networking opportunities, recruitment events and sector specific sessions from industry professionals.

For further information about our career services please see the Career Development Services web pages.

For experienced managers looking to develop their international management competencies. The programme is structured to allow you to continue to work and to study your MBA part-time, connecting your learning to current global and relevant organisational issues. This is ideal if you are unable to take significant time out of the workplace to study and want greater flexibility over how, when and where you achieve your MBA qualification. An accelerated programme is also offered and can be completed within 15 months. Participants on this version would need to devote considerable time to their studies and would therefore be undertaking the programme full-time or whilst in part-time employment.
