RREF Annual Fund

The Annual Fund is about collective philanthropy and alumni coming together to help build futures. All donations, at every level, are crucial to our ability to sustain and develop our initiatives. An amount that might seem modest to you would quickly become significant to us when combined with the gifts of others, over the course of a year. Donors to the RREF Annual Fund elect to support one of the areas below.

Where the need is greatest

Donations without a specified purpose enable us to respond flexibly to needs as they arise and will be allocated to those areas most in need of support at the time that the gift is made.

We are committed to ensuring that limited financial means are not a barrier to studying real estate and planning at Reading.

The bursaries and hardship grants that we provide enable students to focus on learning and achieving their full potential without the heavy burden of financial concerns.

There will always be a need to support our students in this way and we must ensure that our bursary provision keeps pace with increasing demand.

Cutting edge research has the power to invigorate teaching, inspire students, inform industry practice and raise the profile of Real Estate & Planning at Henley Business School, University of Reading.

The School is committed to attracting and retaining the most promising academic talent and we aim to fund research-related activities with real world applications.

Widening participation

The real estate industry has long suffered from a lack of diversity and this has been reflected in applications to study real estate and planning at University.

We aim to raise awareness of real estate as a subject of study amongst academically able pupils from disadvantaged and non-traditional backgrounds, breaking down barriers to applications.

It is our intention to establish a series of initiatives (such as schools visits, taster days and student shadowing programmes) to complement our flagship 'Pathways to Property' project.

Teaching & learning

The programmes offered by the School of Real Estate & Planning incorporate current industry issues and are underpinned by world class research.

It is this commitment to globally relevant teaching in addition to strong career-related activities that leads to consistently high graduate employment rates.

It is our goal to facilitate innovative teaching and provide opportunities for students to enhance their learning.
