Bursaries and awards

Bursaries and Awards

We provide a range of undergraduate and postgraduate bursaries to current students facing hardship, as well as offering PhD studentships and graduation awards. These bursaries and awards are funded each year by our generous alumni, corporate donors and fundraising events, and are administered by the RREF Bursary Panel.

We offer over £60,000 each year in bursaries and awards.

Named Bursaries

Sue Clayton (1979 alumna) generously supports the Clayton Prize - awarded twice a year at graduation to the 'most improved' female student. The Clayton Bursary is a hardship bursary awarded annually to an Undergraduate student, and the Clayton MSc Flexible Programmes Hardship Fund supports students studying part-time who find themselves in unexpected financial difficulties.

Vail Williams have made a significant donation in the name of one of their partners, Chris Perry, who sadly passed away in 2009. We have established the Vail Williams Chris Perry Memorial Fund that will award bursaries to one or two students from the school each year.

PMB Holdings generously support an annual student bursary fund which enables us to offer financial support to one or two students each year and enable them to concentrate on gaining their degree.

If you or your company would like to find out more about supporting a bursary or award, please contact Nicole Gillham, n.gillham@rref.reading.ac.uk or 0118 378 4193.

If you are a current student and would like more information on RREF Bursaries and Hardship Funds including details of how to apply, please see the RREF section on Blackboard.
