What we do

Our objectives are to:

• strengthen the links between the School of Real Estate & Planning and its graduates through the management of an active and engaged alumni association
• engage with the real estate industry to develop links between the brightest students and the top employers
• offer support to recent graduates to develop their career and help forge strong networks for their future
• organise networking, fundraising and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events for alumni and corporate contacts throughout the year (see our Events page for details)
• reward the best students for achievement and support those who need financial assistance
• support the future academic talent of the School by offering PhD studentships and recognising key roles and individuals
• share best practice of alumni and corporate relations, fundraising, employability and events with Henley Business School and the wider University
• initiate, develop and facilitate strong relations between the Real Estate & Planning's students and academic staff, its alumni and the property industry, both in the UK and internationally

Our corporate and alumni donors and sponsors enable us to help support and develop the quality of real estate education at the University of Reading and provide a wide range of support to current students in the School.

Resources have been allocated by RREF for the following purposes:

• Provision of bursaries and hardship grants to students facing financial difficulty 
• To recognise teaching and research excellence
• Annual real estate careers fair and a series of evening lectures giving the opportunity to meet and network with top industry professionals
• Professional mentoring programme for students, partnering them with a mentor currently working in the industry to enhance their employability
• Address issues relating to widening access to the profession with the Access Internship Scheme
• Employability and outreach projects
